The Vision of the Africa Nazarene University School of Law is to be an internationally recognized law institution which will produce graduates of character and integrity, equipped for service and leadership to make a difference in Africa and the world.

The ANU School of Law’s mission is to teach and train students to become renowned leaders in all sectors of the legal profession.

The Africa Nazarene University School of Law (ANUSL) Strategic Plan aligns with the three pillars of the ANU Corporate Strategic Plan, namely:

  • Excellence in Academics.
  • Organizational Sustainability; and
  • Development of Enabling Infrastructure

Our niche is in the Liberal Arts and Holistic Comparative and International Legal Education.

This means that we prepare our students for their roles as truly educated lawyers who can impact and affect society positively. By doing so, we play an increasingly prominent role in governance. We are therefore committed to training for ethical and high-impact leadership.

For the last 9 years, the School of Law has been able to:

  1. Produce a cadre of lawyers with an international perspective yet grounded to operate within their context and society who are already effectively contributing to a changing local and international society. In this regard, it is worth noting that some of our students are already making a positive impact in the legal profession through their numerous recognizable achievements.
  2. Embrace a culture of transparency, accountability, and respect for diversity. The school has and continues to attract students and staff from a diversity of communities and nationalities.
  3. Participate in the national agenda and socio-political transformation of Kenya through the activities of its academics.
  4. Employ creativity and innovation in teaching, learning and research.
  5. Lay emphasis in its teaching on issues of integrity, character, professionalism, and teamwork that appreciate the role of law as a healing profession.

Excellent Teaching and Research


Our teaching benefits from the dynamic research being done by our academic staff. The ANUSL encourages a strong and vibrant community where effective teaching and supervision of research is a high priority. The staff at ANUSL are committed to small group teaching and ensuring that staff are accessible to students. The school also has excellent moot court facilities which enable the students to practice the skills they are learning at ANUSL.

Excellent Facilities

The school has excellent facilities for teaching and research. These include:
• The law library located in Grace Roles Building;
• A moot courtroom;
• PowerPoint projectors;
• Whiteboard;
• Public address system for big classes; and
• An electronic learning platform.
In addition to having paper resources at Grace Roles, we subscribe to a wide range of online journals and have access to major legal databases such as HeinOnline and Lexis-Nexis.
ANASL is an exciting and rewarding place to study. Students are taught by leading scholars who have trained all over the world.
