Welcome Message from the Vice-Chancellor
It is my joy to welcome you to Africa Nazarene University. Whether you are a prospective student weighing where to begin, a parent helping your child choose well, a member of our staff or faculty, or a friend of the University getting to know us, I am glad you have come, and I thank God that your path has crossed ours.
Africa Nazarene University was established by the Church of the Nazarene and opened its doors in August 1994, the first Nazarene university outside North America. From the beginning, ours was a vision to educate the whole person, forming graduates of competence, character and community, grounded in a living Christian faith. That vision still guides everything we do.
We are a Christian university that takes both faith and learning seriously and refuses to hold them apart. Our calling is to raise men and women who are excellent at what they do, trusted in how they do it, and mindful of the people they serve. Whether you study on campus or through ANU Online, you will find the same education: real academic depth joined to the practical skills a changing workplace rewards, grounded throughout in Christian values.
At ANU you will learn among a culturally diverse community, with students from across Africa and beyond, taught by distinguished faculty who are committed to nurturing students toward intellectual maturity and moral integrity. As part of the global network of universities within the Church of the Nazarene, ANU also offers opportunities to extend your learning beyond our campus. Through our study-abroad programme, you may spend a semester at one of our sister institutions in the United States, gaining new perspectives while experiencing life and learning in a different cultural context.
Beyond the classroom, we encourage you to embrace the richness of university life. From clubs and societies to sports such as basketball, football and rugby, there are many opportunities to discover your interests, develop your talents, build meaningful friendships and become an active member of the ANU community.
