Chair of Department

Welcome to the Department of Religion and Christian Ministries at Africa Nazarene University!  We are an extraordinary community engaging in scholarship and service to God and his church. Over 20 nationalities are represented in our student body, giving a global feel to the University.

At ANU, a call to ministry is a call to prepare. The department currently offers the Doctor of Philosophy in Religion, Doctor of Ministry, Master of Arts in Religion, a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Transformation, Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. Our faculty constantly research to improve themselves as teachers and preachers of the Word of God.

We played a vital role in forming the Africa Society of Evangelical Theology (ASET) and continue participating in the meetings. Our faculty continue to serve on its executive committees and other professional societies, such as the Wesley Historical Society, Manchester Wesley Research Center, and Wesleyan Theological Society.

ANU is grounded theologically in the Wesleyan tradition. We believe God’s desire for every woman and man is that they may be as holy as he is.  The mission of the Department of Christian Ministry is to impact African society with biblical holiness through excellent theological education and character formation. As a department, we believe that we have done exactly that. Many of our graduates serve the church in Africa and around the world as pastors, District Superintendents (bishops), missionaries, Field Strategy Coordinators, Educators and administrators in parachurch organisations.

If you are looking for a place to prepare yourself as a servant, minister, or scholar and for a ministry that will make a difference in our world, the Department of Religion and Christian Ministries at ANU is the place for you.  Karibu, Akwaaba, Mauya, Wamukelekile!
