Our Vision
The vision of Africa Nazarene University is to be a light to the people of Africa through higher education grounded in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition; the University of choice for Christians desiring academic excellence; a community which will produce individuals of character and integrity of heart; and a place where lives will be transformed for service and leadership to make a difference in Africa and the World.
Our Mission
Africa Nazarene University seeks to provide a holistic education that develops individuals academically, spiritually, culturally and physically and equips them with excellent skills, competencies and Christian values that will enable them to go into the World well prepared to meet the challenges of their time. Africa Nazarene University is a Christian university dedicated to serving both Africa and the Kingdom of God. ANU offers a well-rounded, holistic education to help students establish themselves in three important areas, that of character, community, and competence.
Character
Parents tell us that a focus on character is the most important reason they choose Africa Nazarene University for their children. Character matters at Africa Nazarene University. Integrity matters. Truth matters. At Africa Nazarene University, students explore their faith for living. Chapel services bring the campus community together for praise, worship and learning about God. Our faculty and staff are committed to helping our students to know Christ better and explore their faith for daily living. The University Common Core courses equip all students with the foundation for understanding and living Christianity in a complex world.
Community
At Africa Nazarene University, students find a campus community that supports them academically, socially and spiritually. Students have the opportunity to serve and have experiences to help prepare them to find their place in the world. Choosing to be involved in campus life activities contributes to the student’s intellectual, cultural, recreational, social and spiritual life.
Competence
At Africa Nazarene University, students can achieve their career goals through our degree programmes. We focus on the student as a person to help each one succeed. Our University Common Courses provide the general knowledge base for all ANU students to think critically and understand truth. Africa Nazarene University offers bachelor’s degree programmes in Commerce, Computer Science, and Theology; a master’s degree in Religion, and a Pre-University programme.
Making a Difference
Africa Nazarene University’s graduates are well prepared to make a difference in the world. Our graduates leave with excellent skills for their career with a solid foundation for life-long living. Our graduates know that character and integrity matter. And each student knows that he or she has a place of service in the world. Students are encouraged to give back to the community and to make a difference wherever they are.
