Africa Nazarene University welcomes Prof. Wakiuru Wamwara, Associate Professor in Wright State University’s Raj Soin College of Business who joins us in June of 2017. This year, Africa Nazarene University is playing host to the African Diaspora Scholar from the United States of America to pursue a collaborative project that will work on a training project for supervisors of graduate students and also conduct research seminars for postgraduate students. These activities will be hosted by the Business School and supported by Dr Rose Karimi, our ANU counterpart.
Prof. Wamwara is one of the 169 scholars who have been awarded Fellowships to Africa. Prof. Wamwara comes to Africa Nazarene University with a background in Management Information Systems, Marketing from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University Of Memphis.
The fellowship is funded by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, comes in the wake of an era where African scholars who are now residing in the diaspora are willingly coming back home to support institutions of higher learning benefit from brain drain.
Prof Wamwara applauded the initiative and mentioned that “Future collaborations between these institutions will undoubtedly enable our students and faculty to experience our inherent connectedness and is consistent with the commitment to diversify and the belief that each member of humanity has a potential contribution to make to the world as whole”
On behalf of team ANU, We welcome Prof. Wamwara into the fold and we hope that her stay on campus will be beneficial to her and the entire community as we all seek to make a difference in Africa and the world.
