Mid this year, ANU opened its doors to Dr. Paul Madtes Jr. Currently serving as Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Dr. Paul Madtes Jr. joined ANU on August 24, 2016 as visiting faculty in the Environment and Natural Resources Management Department teaching Botany and Zoology courses.
A distinguished scholar, Paul holds two doctoral degrees in Biblical Counseling and Biochemistry from Trinity Theological Seminary and Texas A & M University respectively, attaining a Master of Science in Biophysics from the latter.
Dr. Madtes Jr. acquired a B.A. in Chemistry from Eastern Nazarene College further to which he pursued several courses at Harvard University and Rutgers University and a graduate coursework course at University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Madtes Jr. has a great wealth of pedagogical experience spanning over 30 years having lectured at Point Loma Nazarene University and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He also served as a visiting Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he was engaged in biomedical research.
Dr. Madtes Jr. has authored and co-authored 37 publications (books, chapters and research papers) and participated in academic and professional conference presentations.
Paul is married to Judy Renée Madtes. The couple has two children Sarah Elizabeth and Matthew Joseph.
